I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I attended both Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Arlington for undergrad. I ultimately graduated from UTA with a major in political science and minors in history and Latin. I then went on to law school at Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M School of Law). I graduated in 2007. As a law student, I went out on a limb and applied for an internship with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. I was not sure that being a trial lawyer or practicing criminal law was what I wanted to do, but I thought I would give it a try. I immediately fell in love with the practice of criminal law and took every opportunity I could to be in and around the criminal courthouse. After graduation, I took a post-bar internship with the District Attorney’s Office and shortly afterwards was hired as an Assistant District Attorney. I spent 4 years prosecuting in both the misdemeanor and felony divisions. I began to feel that prosecuting was not where I was best suited and made the decision to start working as a criminal defense attorney. I have loved practicing criminal defense even more than I ever would have expected. I feel that I have truly found my niche. I love working with clients to help them reach the best possible solution in their darkest hours; I love being in the courthouse every day; and I love being in trial protecting my clients’ rights even more.I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas.
